The biggest blackest whitesploitation comedy musical you ever seen sucka!!!

Film Festivals: Was relatively new to the festival game, realized I should probably enter my films in festivals rather than just making them and putting them on line. Had to send out individual VHS tapes as a screener for festivals, so I didn't enter too many. As I later learned through random encounters with people in NYC and Atlanta, dubs of this film were passed around a lot at parties and kinda became a cult sensation. Here's a few fests it played to satisfy my website format obligation Beverly Hills Film Festival, Palm Beach International Film Festival, Festivus FilmFestival (Featured Short Film + this fest was soooo cool RIP), Radar Hamburg, Park City Film Music Festival (Gold Medal–Musical Excellence—Short Performance Film)

Screening Note: If I could go back in time, I definitely would tweak some things that I feel got a bit too hardcore/cringey, but the musical format kinda had me locked in once we went into production and with possibilities in post. Anywho, I love this film. Kinda channeled my inner John Woo with a dash of Gordon Parks for my directing approach—my goal to kinda re-invent the zoom. In high school, I gravitated to blacksploitation, Hong Kong action flix, and cult films because the work was exciting and unexpected, and I also happened to love musicals, so figured I'd bring it all together with this hip-hopera with the coolest of the cool soundtracks by my musical partner, Jacoti Sommes, who also plays L'roy in this film. This was the second to last performance by Ukulele Man who plays the crooked cop. I miss Uke. Had an amazing time making this with an incredible cast and crew who have gone onto do amazing things. This film is based on the story SOUTHLAND from RED ROOM by Alien Stevens.
