Film Festivals:  Never entered in film festivals, but prolly shoulda.

Screening Note: One summer, had access to a Bolex film camera, so figured I should do something with it. An old-timey music video for an old-timey-sounding song seemed like a good thing. This is a music video for the song KING OF THE WORLD by UKULELE MAN. This stars one of the most amazing people I've had the pleasure of knowing, the musician and my friend, Tom "Ukulele Man" Harker (RIP). I loved that guy. And he too was teacher, albeit I knew him after he was a retired English/PolyRad teacher. I met Tom when I was completely burned out, had been documenting musicians for the better part of 3 years at that point, and I caught his set when he opened for the legendary acoustic outfit, Asylum Street Spankers. He was one big man (6'5" 350lbs) and one tiny ukulele and he gave the most soulful performance I'd ever seen. I was so moved, I went back stage and said, "Hi" and told him as much, and we were friends ever since. And fun fact, used dyed corn syrup for the dripping dip on the spittoon, and geez were the bees loving that—they had a field day.  Making this music video was funtimes.
